Carl Sagan's message for our divided times

The Pale Blue Dot is a Carl Sagan passage that brings me hope in the darkest of moments.

As an atheist, I don’t really go for what many religious people call spirituality. But I also recognise that there is no one clear definition of spirituality. In many cases, it is indeed something superstitious. In many other cases, it approaches something resembling the quest for meaning and purpose.

In a world and time when many some of our worst tribal tendencies are manifesting in our politics and culture, this message seems positively spiritual to me. It presents a way of looking at ourselves that is humbling and empowering at the same time. I hope that you will find perspective in these words, just as I have.

Also, forgive the clunky editing. I made this in Canva.
